Chantal Sébire will not appeal if his application is rejected

DIJON (AFP) - Chantal Sébire, who asked to justice the right to be euthanasiée because of an incurable disease which it is reached, hinted Saturday that it would not appeal if his request was rejected Monday in Dijon in the TV programme “reviewed and Fixed” France 5.

The state prosecutor had requested Dijon Wednesday “receivability” Mrs Sébire, at the hearing in chambers. The judgement will be delivered on Monday.

Questioned by the presenter Paul Amar on his attitude in case of unfavourable opinion, Ms. Sébire said by phone: “If the vice-president of the court of Dijon actually said it confirms the opinion of the prosecutor, I respect his decision” .

“What do you want, I can call after (but) it would serve me to what? I just wanted to show that I am leading a fight to alert and that behind this fight I went to the legality to the end, “she continued.

Chantal Sébire has also confirmed its readiness to go abroad to get what she wants.

“I know now how do I get what I need, and if I do not in the France, I am the procurerai elsewhere,” she said, while stressing that if it did not obtain the right to euthanasia in the law, it does “(will) not at peace.”

Ms. Sébire also held to answer about the Housing Minister Christine Boutin who had declared Thursday at RMC “outraged that we can consider giving death to the woman because she suffers and is deformed” .

“It’s to trivialize serious illness (…) This is not the deformity of my face bothers me, I have absolutely nothing to do, and that if I take this fight, because suffering is such that I ask for help. I want to Ms. Boutin, without any malice, it endured what j’endure just 24 hours, “replied Ms. Sébire.

Ms. Sébire is a former teacher of 52 years, mother of three children, disfigured and rendered blind “esthesioneuroblastome”, a tumor evolutionary sinuses and the nasal cavity.

A very rare - only about a thousand cases have been recorded in the world for 20 years - including the evolution causes a dramatic and irreversible deformation of the face and suffering “excruciating”, says Sébire.
